[ Seoul ( Seodaemun District ), #455 Taeri Street - 11:00pm ]
Na Young couldn't be sure if it was her heartbeat or the forever monotonous ticking of the polished old grandfather clock standing like a ghost in the hallway, but they were getting increasingly louder. It was almost as though they were trying to convince her that something wasn't right in the household at that very moment, and that no matter how much she tried to persuade herself that things were perfectly alright... it was one big lie. Across from her Siwon and So Yoon were talking animatedly. Na Young tried to stay interested in the topic, tried to stay on track with the conversation but to no avail. She kept stealing wary glances towards the flight of stairs leading to the upstairs landing, the same stairs that Heechul and Hankyung had ascended what seemed like centuries ago.

"Heechul probably got lost..." Na Young murmured under her breath.
She returned her attention to Siwon and So Yoon and feigned a smile, attempting once more to pick up on their conversation. It was something about the city and how buildings would get bigger... no, it was no use. Her mind was wandering off without her, making up scenarios that she knew had to be true but decided to turn a blind eye to. But her husband wasn't like that, was he? After all he had a wife. He had her, why would he cheat on her with another man... ? Wasn't she good enough for him? Was there something she wasn't satisfying... something she couldn't do? How long had he felt this, how long had it been since...

Na Young suddenly became aware of the fact that both Siwon and So Yoon's conversation had ceased and they both had their eyes fixated on her with wide eyes. It took a bit more time to realize that she had somewhere along the way curled her long, slender fingers into a delicate fist and had brought it into contact with the table.
"Oh!" She exclaimed, blinking in shock at her actions, "I... I'm so sorry I don't know what came over me..."
Na Young rose from her seat and placed the palm of her left hand over her forehead.
"I'm going to go get some water, I have a bit of a headache... please excuse me momentarily." She murmured with a small bow of her head.

But Na Young didn't make her way to the kitchen... instead, she began wandering aimlessly through the large mansion. She questioned herself often as to why she were doing it, when she knew exactly the destination she wanted to arrive at... perhaps it was just her way of putting it off until the very last second. Every corridor she went down looked the same to her now, despite the fact that she had lived in this very house for over ten years. It was as though she was on auto-pilot - her mind and her body weren't cooperating. Na Young clasped her hands together in front of her. She was shaking... shaking badly. Her hands were sweating, and her body temperature felt like it was skyrocketing. She could feel her heartbeat speed up in her chest as the door she had been waiting for slowly came into view... it was open a crack, and faint noises managed to slip through the crack along with any light from the bedroom.

Na Young slumped her body against the wall, any strength she had possessed being stolen from her bones until it felt like it was becoming harder to breath in the air around her that seemed to simply thicken up the longer she stayed in that one place.
"Just turn around, Na Young..." She choked, clenching her hands into fists against the wooden paneled walls, "Turn around and forget you saw anything."
Tears were stinging her eyes, threatening to overflow as she stared at the patch of leaked yellow light from the crack in the bedroom door. Na Young was begging herself now. Begging herself to forget that she saw anything.
"Let me keep believing my life... ! Let me go back!" She cried, shaking her head furiously.

But her body wouldn't comply. She pushed herself away slowly away from the wall, staggering slightly from loss of support, and instead of turning around and heading back to the living room ventured on forward. Na Young fidgeted with her fingers. Rubbing, tugging, folding, anything to keep her mind steady and to keep reminding herself that she was still in control of this body of hers, which had seem to taken on a life of it's own. It was as though she were just watching through someone else's eyes as she approached the door.

It was close now, only a few more steps and the view inside the bedroom would be visible. The noises had gotten louder - she could hear muffled voices and the creaking of bedframes. There was whispering, there was moaning, there were words of romance and lust that were being spilled from the lips of the man she called her husband... but they weren't for her. They were for another man... a well known model named Kim Heechul.

Na Young slid her fingers across the polished wooden door, nudging it open slightly to get a better view at the two inside. Immediately, she regretted it. She regretted it all. The heartpounding moment when she met Hankyung. The warmth that had surged through her body when they had fallen in love. That romantic moment when under the soft orange glow of the setting sun he had proposed to her. That time-stopping moment she had said yes. The gorgeous wedding, the moving in together... she regretted everything. Including coming upstairs in the first place.

They weren't dressed. Well, Hankyung was partially... his shirt had been unbuttoned and his pants unzipped, but Heechul's clothes could be seen scattered across the creamy white bedroom carpet like frustrating ink stains. Heechul had one leg hooked around her husband's waist and his arms around Hankyung's neck, lips locked in a passionate kiss that made them oblivious to the world. By now Na Young's tears had begun to flow, staining her pale cheeks with a salty trail that led to the floor below her feet. She couldn't stand there anymore and she acted on her first instinct. Run and don't look back.

And that is exactly what Na Young did. Turning sharply on her heel, she ran. She ran like her life depended on it - which it very well might have - and didn't look back, not once.
"It didn't happen. It didn't happen. It didn't happen. It didn't happen..."
Na Young kept repeating those three words, trying to convince herself that she had just imagined the scene upstairs. What was she supposed to do now? She had just confirmed her worst fear... what was she supposed to do now? End it with him? But she still loved him... so much more than that Kim Heechul ever would, she was sure... he was a crucial part of the only life she'd ever know... and she was supposed to just... end it?

Na Young came to a screeching halt. It was as though someone had pressed the pause button on her momentarily. Her tears stopped flowing, her body stopped shaking, her heartbeat slowed down, and she narrowed her eyebrows dangerously. Hankyung was still hers. He was her husband... and nobody was going to take him away from her. Even if it required going to extreme lengths, she wouldn't lost her husband.

She wouldn't lose him to someone like Heechul.

So Yoon kept her eyes fixated on the passing city just outside the taxi window, mesmerized by the glowing neon lights that passed over the vehicle as they slipped by underneath them and momentarily dyed the interior colorful shades of pink, green, blue and yellow. Her eyelids felt heavy and she was absolutely exhausted after such a long day. The city of Seoul however, seemed extremely contradictory. It was as though it didn't sleep. Despite the fact that it was the middle of the night, the streets were still packed with vehicles of various sizes and the streets were littered here and there with pedestrians. Seated beside her in the backseat was Siwon, a similarly distracted expression plastered over his flawless features that mirrored her own. The evening had gone well, but there were two things she was questioning. One more than the other.

The first was why Na Young looked so different when she had returned to the living room. So Yoon could see it in her eyes, it was as though any sort of feeling in her had died, leaving behind a cold stone shell in it's path. Na Young had tried to act normally when hse had returned. She sat down and tried to once again join in on the conversation, but to So Yoon it seemed as though she couldn't keep her attenton focused on the topic. Her sentances kept trailing off and there were moments when she did nothing but stare at her hands. The question circulating throug So Yoon's mind was what had happened in that short time Na Young had left, and did it have anything to do with the rather odd absence of Heechul and Hankyung?

That brought her to another point. Kim Heechul... there was something about that man that seemed almost... she couldn't put her finger on it, but it seemed as though he was involved in a lot... So Yoon couldn't help but steal another glance towards Siwon's direction where he sat masked in shadows. Even before she met Siwon, So Yoon had oftened been told that she resembled the famous model Kim Heechul, but she had never believed it until that afternoon at the harbor. Normally, she would have just written it off as nothing... but wasn't it a huge coincidence that out of all the girls he could choose as a girlfriend, Siwon chose her - the one who looks like Kim Heechul, whom he's also close with?

"Hey, Siwon..." So Yoon murmured, turning her attention to the man seated beside her.
Siwon - who she guessed had also been busy thinking - snapped his head upwards and turned to face her, eyes wide with shock as though he had just been caught doing something illegal. As soon as he saw So Yoon, however, his surprise melted.
"Is something the matter So Yoon?" He asked, turning his attention back to the view outside the window.
"Do you... do you love me?"

So Yoon chose her words carefully, as though she were treading on thin ice that was about to crack any second.
"Of course I do." Siwon replied without missing a beat.
She felt her heart sink at his words. Not only had he kept his voice expressionless, he hadn't even turned around to face her when he said it.
"But..." She choked, reaching one hand out and placing it gently on his shoulder, "Do you love me?"

This time, Siwon did tear his gaze away from the window and gave her his attention. His eyes were wide with surprise and he simply stared at her for a moment as though silently questioning her words. So Yoon didn't back down, though... what she wanted right there and then were answers. Answers for so many things... did he even love her, or was she just a replacement for a man whom he couldn't get?
"Why won't you answer?" So Yoon asked, her voice cracking on the last syllable.

Siwon reached his hand around and slipped it around her waist, using the other hand to tangle up with her fingers.
"Of course I love you. Who else would I love?" He said calmly, stroking the backside of her hand with his thumb.
Usually, So Yoon could be comforted with such words... but they didn't work this time. Only now it become clear to her that he only acted in such a manner when he wanted her to stop asking questions... and it just managed to break her heart more. But she wouldn't fight him on it... it would be a pointless fight.
"You're right..." So Yoon said with a forced laugh, while every fiber of her being was screaming 'You're lying!'

[ Seoul ( Seodaemun District ), #455 Taeri Street - 12:30am ]
Na Young watched her husband decend the staircase from where she was seated against the leather couch situated in the living room, followed closely by Heechul. She had her arms folded neatly under her chest and her eyes narrowed... not at Hankyung, but Heechul. In her eyes, her husband couldn't do wrong... it was all that model's fault... he was the one that seduced her husband. That was what was going through her head, that was what she'd continue believing. Na Young rose from the couch and approached the two, who were currently busy getting their jackets on.

"Oh! Where are you two going?" Na Young asked, blinking an eye curiously at Hankyung.
"I'm going to drive Heechul home." Hankyung replied curtly, not sparing her a glance.
Na Young bit her lip, obviously affected by the cold shoulder... but she tried to not let it get to her too much.
"Are you sure that's alright? I can call a taxi if you want..." She said, already making her way towards the telephone.
"It isn't necessary." Hankyung snapped, his voice a bit more venemous than he had originally intended.
"I... I see..." Na Young murmured, stopped cold in her tracks.
"Then let me help you button your jacke-"

Na Young, who had already been in the middle of approaching Hankyung to help him with his jacket froze in spot. There on her husband's neck, sticking out like a blotch of black ink on snowy white paper was a red mark... it was extremely noticable against his pale skin. Inconspicuously, Hankyung adjusted the jacket on his shoulders, shielding the mark from plain site and snapping Na Young out of her trance.
"I don't need you to." He said coldly, taking his keys from the dark oak table closest to his thigh.

Hankyung approached the door, reaching one hand out and slipping his fingers around the cool brass doorknob. He opened the door, allowing Heechul to leave first before stepping outside into the cool night air himself.
"Uhm..." Na Young murmured, taking a step forward, "Will you come back home tonight?"
The hopefulness in her voice certainly wouldn't go unnoticed, and Hankyung paused at the door...
"Why wouldn't I be?" He returned, bringing the door shut behind him without sparing a glance behind him.

It was only after he closed the door did Na Young allow her tears to flow freely.
"But why are you lying to me... ?!"
