Hyukjae's foot managed to catch the edge of the thing bench, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the hardwood floor with a loud, painful thunk and turning the bench over in the process.
"Damn!" He cursed, bringing his fist into the air and slamming it down on the ground.
He pushed himself into a standing position, rubbing his hands over his eyes and allowing an agitated groan to escape his lips. Turning his attention to the overturned bench he pulled his foot back and brought the tip of his toe in contact with the polished wood. The loud clatter of wood scraping against wood momentarily filled the room as Hyukjae took his anger out on the inanimate object.

"Attacking the bench won't do a thing..."

He snapped his chin upwards, turning his attention to the voice that had just spoken. In the corner of the room stood his manager, leaning with his back pressed against one of the many mirrors covering the walls, arms crossed over his chest stood his manager whom he had momentarily forgotten was in the room - Lee Donghae.
"I've been working at this for two goddamn hours!" Hyukjae snapped, stabbing a finger at the overturned bench beside him.
Donghae pushed himself away from the wall and approached the angered model until the distance between them was a mere few feet apart. From here, he proceeded to plant his left hand on his hip and stare Hyukjae down.
"Acting like this about it isn't going to improve your skills." He said earnestly.

Hyukjae parted his lips, fully prepared to fire a response back at the man, but hesitated before the words could spill from his mouth. He bit down on his bottom lip and turned his gaze away from Donghae's, instead opting to stare at the bench laying beside him. If there was anything he hated, it was when Donghae was right and he was absolutely and utterly wrong. But there had been a reason he had chosen him as his manager - other than the fact that they had a more-than-friend relationship. He had known Donghae since he was young, and he knew that the man was reliable when it came down to dealing with problems. Not only that, but he had no problem telling him when he was wrong, or pointing out when he made a flaw in his modelling. He was trustworthy and reliable, and that was exactly what Hyukjae wanted.

"Hyukjae, you want to be on top. Right?" Donghae questioned, his voice softer than it had been previously.
Hyukjae simply replied with a quick nod of his head.
"Then this practice is necessary. You may have shaken him up, but Heechul's position is still far from yours. You're participating in the same fashion show he is next week and if you can perfect your walk you can have every pair of eyes in the building on you. But as things stand right now, you are still unable to walk a straight line." He said, nodding at the overturned bench.
"Without a straight walk, you look sloppy, uncoordinated and uneven. Understand?"
Once again, Hyukjae responded with a nod.

Donghae extended his hand, cupping the palm of his hand around the left side of Hyukjae's face and forcing him to look his way, locking their gazes in an intense stare down.
"This isn't something to joke about. This is serious business, and if you can't perfect that walk then you're going to go down as just another nameless model in this harsh industry and if I remember correctly, it was you who said that they wanted to be the one standing on top, shining brighter than the rest and becoming a person nobody would forget."

An agitated sigh passed the barrier of Hyukjae's lips as he turned his gaze towards the ceiling, momentarily allowing Donghae's words to sink back in. He was correct, those had been the words that had come out of his mouth. Since he was a kid he had wanted to be a model, but he wanted to be better than anyone ever had before. Sure, he had managed to snag the attention of the nation by being the newest model to ever make a name for himself so quickly. He had even managed to surpass quite a few famous models already, but there was still that one obstacle in his way, and it's name was Kim Heechul. And to surpass Kim Heechul would take far more effort than he could only dream of.

And he was fully prepared for that.

"I know." Hyukjae murmured with a small nod of his head.
"Good." Donghae said, giving him a small pat on the shoulder.
"Now pick that bench up." He said, gesturng at the bench.
Hyukjae leaned over and returned the bench to its upright position while Donghae retreated to his corner of the room to once again observe his model.
"Hyukjae... " He called, "I'll give you a reward if you can perfect this..."
Hyukjae tossed a glance over his shoulder at Donghae, a sly smirk playing over his lips before he took his position once more on top of the bench. On the bright side, now he had some motivation...

Hye Ri brought her vehicle to a screeching halt upon reaching a red light. A long, drawn-out sigh escaped her lips as she leaned back in her seat and watched as vehicles of all shapes, sizes and colors went speeding by from the other direction. Beside her Heechul sat with one leg crossed over the other, elbow perched on the edge of the window, chin cupped in his hand. Even from the distance she was seated, Hye Ri could see the distance in his eyes as he watched the crowd of people passing by the vehicle.

Her facial expression softened momentarily. Despite how cold she was acting towards him, she still felt somewhat bad for the man. There was no denying the fact that the news article about the new model Lee Hyukjae had shaken him up, but even so... it was no excuse for his recent performances.
"The show is next week and you still have yet to perfect your walk." Hye Ri said, returning her attention to the road ahead of her and pressing her heeled foot down on the gas pedal.
"I know." Heechul replied simply, still keeping his attention focused on the scenery flying past them as they drove.

"... Heechul, I know that news report was sudden and unexpected, but that is certainly no reason to begin letting your work slip. If anything, you should be trying to do better. Recently, your performance has been lacking. You're aware of this, yes?" Hye Ri questioned sternly.
Heechul hesitated, but responded with a definite yes.
"Right now you're acting unprofessional. You've been on top for so long with no worthy opponent that you've completely forgotten how to fight back. You never had to put any effort into defeating those who opposed you in the past, but this time it's different. Right now, you're facing a worthy rival and sulking about it is getting you nowhere."

This time, Heechul didn't respond to Hye Ri's words. He just continued staring out the window at the passing scenery. But he knew that there was nothing but truth hidden in her words. He knew that his attitude towards this series of problems was absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. As much as he hated to admit it, she had a point. He had been sitting on top in his comfortable throne of popularity for so long that he had forgotten how to fight off worthy opponents who dared to steal his title. For the longest time his name was the one hanging off everyone's lips and now that there was someone who disrupted the balance... and all he could do about it was sulk.

Yet still. It seemed as though his heart and his mind where not agreeing. In his heart, he wanted to fight back with everything he had... but in his mind, he still wanted his title but he stubbornly didn't want to fight for it. There was no denying the fact that Hyukjae's words had disturbed him far more than they should have. No matter what the younger model had said, it shouldn't have affected his performance as bad as it had been.

Before he knew it, Hye Ri had pulled up in front of Heechul's apartment. She turned the key in the ignition, cutting the power to the vehicle.
"Heechul." She said, turning in her seat to face him, "You need to perfect your walk and you need to own that catwalk next week. If you don't, Hyukjae is going to steal the crowds attention and they will not spare you a single glance. You're already standing close to the edge, if he manages to get the best of you now then he's going to have an advantage. Do you understand me? Your performance thus far is absolutely unacceptable and it needs to change. Now."

Heechul, who already had his fingers curled around the door handle, hesitated slightly before supplying Hye Ri with a response.
"I know. I won't give up this easily..." He murmured quietly.
He wanted to sound confident, but his response was flat and emotionless. Heechul pushed the car door open and stepped out, slamming it behind him before making his way to the front door of the apartment complex.

From her position still seated in the vehicle Hye Ri watched as he approached the door, getting further and further from her car. A sigh escaped her ruby painted lips as she turned her key in the ignition.
"I have faith in you, Heechul..."
 [ Seoul Metro Area, Skyline Heights - 6:20pm ]

Heechul watched, momentarily mesmerized as the floor numbers lit up as the elevator approached and then passed them until eventually, a loud ding! flooded the small space, indicating that he had reached his floor. He sighed and adjusted his bag on his shoulder before approaching the slowly parting large elevator doors. He took a step forward, not paying too much attention to his surroundings and ran straight into some unknown stranger.

"Ow! What do you think you're doing?!" Heechul snapped, staggering back and planting his hand over his nose.

"... Heechul... ?"

Heechul's eyelids sprung open at the voice. He knew it well. Very well. He knew it so well that he could manage to single it out in any crowd. He jerked his head upwards, eyesight greeted with the image of someone whom he had been craving to see for days now.
"Hangeng!... ?" Heechul gasped, blinking his eyes in surprise.
He raised an eyebrow at him, giving his lover a skeptical once over. It certainly looked like Hangeng, but what on earth was he doing at his apartment? Especially when he lived a good hour and a half away from the heart of Seoul.

A smirk played across Hangeng's lips at Heechul's obvious confusion as to why he was standing there, a mere few feet away from him. But that smirk quickly faded when he took in the site of his lover. He looked exhausted beyond belief and - it was difficult to tell, but - it looked as though he had become paler, if that was even possible.

In all truth he had come because he, too, had witnessed the interview that had taken place the previous night on television. It had been Na Young that had called him over to watch it, claiming that Heechul's name was on the news. As soon as he laid eyes on the article, Hangeng picked up the phone and had dialed Heechul's number, but had received no answer. Worried, he decided the best option was to visit the next day. Only, when he arrived the model hadn't been home. Thinking back on it now, he had been waiting a good three hours at least.

Without further hesitation, Hangeng reached out and slipped his arm around Heechul's slender waist and pulled him closer, crushing his body against his own and threaded his fingers through the older man's thick sandy shaded hair.
"I saw the news last night." He murmured quietly.
Heechul's eyes widened, but he remained silenced and simply nodded.
"You're okay, right?" Hangeng asked, caution heavily lining his voice.

Heechul shifted in his arms and looked up at him with shimmering black eyes.
"... Did you come all the way here because you where worried about me?" The older man asked in a quiet voice, tipping his head to the left slighty.
"I was worried. Is that a bad thing?" Hangeng replied with a small nod of his head, and even tacking on a question of his own.
Heechul blinked at him, somewhat surprised at his answer. Yet, regardless, he couldn't contain the small smile that tugged at the corners of his lips.
"It's not... and thank you. It means a lot to me. To be truthful, I let it get to me and it's affected my performance in a negative way. But Hye Ri is right, I've been on top for so long that I've forgotten how to fight for my title... and that's exactly what I need to do right now. I need to keep fighting in order to become the worlds most recognized model..."

Hangeng was taken by surprise at Heechul's words. Never before had he seen him talk with such an intense gaze, or with such a stern tone of voice. It was like a new side of his lover that he had never seen. A long, drawn out sigh escaped his lips as he threaded his fingers through his own hair.
"I... don't know about the modelling industry so I can't help you much, but never hesitate to come to me when you're having trouble. I'll always be here, Heechul."
"I know you are." Heechul replied with a warm smile.

The older man slipped his arms around his lovers neck and brushed his lips over Hangeng's, no longer caring that they where in a public hallway and that anybody could easily spot the couple if they opened their door.
"I know where you can start..." Heechul murmured, a seductive edge to his voice as a sinful smirk played across his lips.
He allowed his hands to travel down Hangeng's body, over his clothed chest until he reached the younger mans belt. Nimbly, Heechul's fingers began undoing the black leather clasp.

"Wait, wait Heechul..." Hangeng said, taking hold of Heechul's shoulders, "We're in the hallway... ?"
The older man halted his action and darted his head upwards, stealing a glance to his left and then to his right before turning his attention to Hangeng.
"... Oh." He said simply, pulling his hands away from the belt that he had already finished undoing, "Right, maybe we should go to my apartment..."

Heechul made his way down the apartment hallways, Hangeng behind him. There was a reason he was walking somewhat faster than his lover, he didn't want him to see the smile that wouldn't leave his face. It seemed as though no matter how he was feeling, seeing Hangeng would always brighten his mood... and that was exactly what he wanted at that moment.

"Y'know," Heechul stole a glance over his shoulder, "Just because you have work tomorrow, doesn't mean I'll go easy on you tonight..."

Hangeng responded to this with a playful smirk, "I wasn't doubting that..."
